Family worship and praise at St James' Church, Quedgeley

WE THOUGHT it was going to be a quiet August, but we were wrong!

The number of children doubled from last year as they came to sing their praises at our family service in Saint James’.

The theme this month focused on the Transfiguration where Jesus appears in a bright light to his disciples, flanked by the prophets Elijah and Moses.

It was then, that if the disciples had any doubt at all, they realised that Jesus was very special.

Youngsters were engrossed as Jane Rogers told the story assisted by her puppet Maddie who wore her ‘shades’ to protect her from the bright light!

Youngsters and the not so young enjoyed the craft activity - making a lantern with the help of Emma Price.

Worship, songs and play were all part of the service and the morning was rounded off with a free buffet lunch that the youngsters hungrily tucked into.

Do join us – First Sunday in the month.

It is a very informal service and starts at 10.30am. – No age limit!
