Pedal for Maggie’s Cheltenham!

MAGGIE’S Cheltenham, the charity which provides free practical and emotional support for people living with cancer, is asking cyclists of all levels to get on their bike and Pedal for Maggie’s!

Pedal for Maggie’s, the charity’s annual cycle ride, includes a choice of a 40 or 60 mile route through the Cotswolds on Sunday, September 17, 2017.

Sally Hayes, Centre Head at Maggie’s Cheltenham said: “Everyone in the Centre is ecstatic for this years Pedal for Maggie’s, with some of our staff and visitors even taking on the ride”.

“As a charity Maggie’s Cheltenham relies on donations and fundraising events such as Pedal for Maggie’s which allows us to continue to develop our unique, high quality programme of support, offering the best support possible to all those living with cancer.”

“With the cycling fever that has swept Cheltenham recently with the Tour of Britain we want people to get on their bikes, even if it’s been a while, and Pedal for Maggie’s!”

All funds raised through the £20 early registration fee (£25 on the day) and optional fundraising will be used to help Maggie’s support people affected by cancer and their families and friends. Participants can register online before the event at maggiescentres.org/pedalformaggies; the ride kicks off 8-10am Sunday, September 17, at the Maggie’s Cheltenham Centre.

Riders will be treated to a fully signed route through the stunning Cotswold countryside, with half way stops for both routes at Cotswold Farm Park and Cotswold Food Store.

There will also be plenty of well-earned free refreshments waiting for riders on their return to Maggie’s Cheltenham, kindly supplied by Morrison’s and Maggie’s amazing baking volunteers!

Sharon Collins, Clinical Psychologist at Maggie’s Cheltenham said: “I love cycling and Pedal for Maggie’s is such a great excuse to get on the bike and not only enjoy a fantastic route in some of the best countryside the UK has to offer but also a complete day out. Having begun my role at Maggie’s Cheltenham a few months ago I am also excited to represent Team Maggie’s on ride and meet some of our lovely supporters!”
