THE children of Hopelands Preparatory School welcomed the Mayor of Stonehouse, Mrs Theresa Watt, to judge their annual Spiritual Arts competition, which this year was a photographic competition on the theme of Our Wonderful World.

Entries included photographs of the children's pets, landscapes and autumn scenes as well as still life compilations that summed up the children's idea of what makes their world 'wonderful'.

Barbara Sands, Head of PSHE, said: "It’s delightful to see how the children have engaged in the project this year. Their work showed initiative and creativity and it was obvious that they each had chosen a subject that really meant something to them".

A pupil from each form was awarded a ‘Gold’ and ‘Silver’ prize with all other entrants receiving a Certificate of Merit. And, as the school uniform is blue, the children were all dressed in red and white for Children in Need day.
