FANCY hats, sweets, decorations and Santa, brought Christmas to Quedgeley on Saturday when Saint James’ Church held their Christmas Fayre in the Quedgeley Community Centre.

The fayre was opened at 2pm by the Mayor of Gloucester Cllr Steve Morgan and Sally Morgan, Mayoress.

A choir from Fieldcourt Infant Academy livened up the fayre with a medley of Christmas songs.

The fayre was packed out with many people hunting for Christmas bargains.

Refreshments were served throughout the afternoon.

Santa made an appearance at around 3pm and handed out free bars of chocolate.

The fayre raised £2,606

Father John Rector and Parish Priest said ‘Everyone has worked incredibly hard to make this fayre a success. I am particularly grateful for the help provided by those who live in our community and are not regular churchgoers. The money raised is vitally needed for the up keep of the parish church. I’d like to thank everyone who came or who bought raffle tickets, your contribution is much appreciated’
