Upton St Leonard’s WI

SADNESS began our meeting as a lifelong loyal member, Evelyn Rumsey died last Thursday.

Evelyn served as President and other capacities in our WI seeing lots of changes but always embracing the future, she was also larger than life in Upton St Leonards’ village and will be sadly missed, a minutes silence was held for her.

Our meal at the ‘Bell Inn’ Shurdington was excellent and enjoyed by 16 members; the next luncheon date will be on Tuesday, November 21, meeting at the Barge restaurant in Gloucester docks.

Congratulations to our quiz team who won fifth place, competing against 22 teams.

Congratulations also go to Angela Marks and the winning team for GFWI playing against Avon in the Annual Federation Bowls match.

GFWI won the match with 86 shots.

Thursday, December 14, Kathy and Marlene volunteered to attend Larkhay Christmas Party.

We said goodbye to Claudia who is moving to Spain; she served on the committee and will be missed along with her six little Yorkshire terriers!
