THE Stonehouse branch of the Royal British Legion Women's Section celebrated its 90th Anniversary at the November meeting.

The branch began in November 1927.

A service of thanksgiving and celebration was held in the Community Centre on November 30, 2017, led by the vicar of Stonehouse Rev Charles Minchin and Rosemary Bodenham our chairman.

A good number of members came along with visitors and guests, including David Drew our local MP, the mayor Theresa Watts, Kay Scase County Secretary, local councillors, and guests from the local branch of the RBL.

The exhortation was led by Carol Hoban the County Chairman.

Gifts were presented by Annie Reed, ex-county chair to Penny Sweet and Sandra Sowls for their hard work and contribution to Legion Life over many years.

After the service everyone enjoyed a cream tea.

Our next meeting is on Thursday, December 14, in the Community Centre at 1.45pm.

The competition is "A New year`s Resolution."

Members are asked to bring a wrapped gift for the raffle and something for the hamper.
