INEQUALITY, has been in the news this month: A supermarket paying men more than women; People not being paid enough to pay their bills and have enough left over to buy enough food; Bristol ladies being forced to earn on the streets; and numbers of people relying on Food Banks has increased dramatically.

These are just some of the current reports about the UK.

At the same time a new wave of protests against the compulsory wearing of the hijab has spread across Iran, resulting in the arrests of dozens of women. was portrayed by the Iranian government - accusing the protesters of being under the influence of drugs.

We have recently been celebrating the centenary of women getting the vote.

That took a lot of determination, misery, imprisonment, injuries, and death.

A lot of money, energy, and enthusiasm has been spent over a number of years, pushing for equality in certain areas affecting people’s status, to obtain the results they wanted.

But when it comes to pushing for equality to change the things that are vital for people to exist:-

Where are the protestors?

Jesus gave us a new commandment.

‘Love one another as I have loved you, …’ and James Chapter 2 is all about favouritism, which is what all the previous examples are about.

“My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favouritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? James 2:1-4”
