Stonehouse Royal British Legion Women's Section
THE monthly meeting of the WRBL took place at the Community Centre on Thursday, February 22.
There were 18 members present.
Our chairman Rosemary Bodenham led the exhortation and silent tribute.
During the business side of the meeting Sandra told us that we had raised £139 at the Goodwill Evening.
She announced that the annual St George's Day service would be held in Gloucester Cathedral on April 23.
We sang birthday wishes to Rosemary, Hilda, Nicky and Ruth and a bouquet has been sent to Edna who had recently celebrated her 100th birthday.
We then enjoyed playing Bingo Whist which was a new experience for some of us.
The competition was won by Sue Daw.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, March 29 at 1.45pm, members are asked to bring a childhood photo of themselves for the competition.
We would also like a contribution towards the Easter Hamper raffle.
A future date for the diary is May 16, when a coffee morning is planned in the morning at the Community Centre.
