A BABY donkey was born last Friday at an equestrian centre in Nailsworth.
The foal which staff at Barton End stables have named Beauty was born to Lizzie a four-year-old donkey at 6.15pm on March 16.
As Beauty was her first foal, she needed a little help bringing the new-born into the world.
Cheryl Bodenham, who works at the stables, said: “As a first-time mum Lizzie was a bit ticklish when Beauty had a drink, she needed a bit of help to begin with, but now they're happy and healthy.
“There were no complications and bonding proved nice and quick.”
Currently all four donkeys Beauty, Lizzie, Nick and Robert are available for petting which they love, owing to their social nature and curiosity.
Looking forward, Beauty and her fellow donkeys will be trained to allow them to be ridden in the future.
Visitors are welcome to visit Beauty and her fellow donkeys at Barton End Equestrian Centre, Nailsworth as she extends the ever-growing family of helping hooves.
