Stonehouse Royal British Legion Women's Section

THE monthly meeting of the WRBL took place at the Community Centre on Thursday, March 29.

Our chairman Rosemary Bodenham led the exhortation and silent tribute.

There were 20 members present.

We were pleased to welcome our county chairman, Carole Hoban as our visitor and speaker.

She had recently attended the National Conference and she was pleased to tell us that Rachel Perkins our County standard bearer had won the National Standard Bearers Competition.

There are now 375 WRBL branches nationally.

Birthday greetings were sung to Sylvia, Sue and Carol.

The winner of the competition for a childhood photo was Barbara Evans.

Future dates to remember are Wednesday, May 16, when we will have a coffee morning in the Community Centre between 10am and 12noon which will include various stalls and a raffle.

The County Quiz will be held in St Joseph's Church hall on June 23, when the theme will be a 1914 - 1918 tea party.

Our next meeting will be on April 26 at 1.45pm.

It will be a members afternoon and a flower brooch is needed for the competition!

New members are always welcome.
