Hilltop Gardening Club with Paul Green of Green’s Leaves Nursery
WHAT could be more welcome for enthusiastic gardeners than to be met with tables of plants when coming to their monthly meeting in Eastcombe Village Hall.
They were then treated to a lively and informative talk by Paul Green who runs Green’s Leaves Nursery specialising in Australian shrubs and plants for foliage interest.
Paul spoke on ‘Unusual plants for plant containers’ showing us a large selection of trees and plants, many varieties new to us and which we could buy later.
Several reasons were given for growing plants in pots.
As Paul was giving us his advice he was showing us a selection of plants.
We were introduced to more unusual varieties of well known plants.
A surprising plant was a variety of the agave which can stand temperatures down to -10 degrees.
Paul was thanked for an inspiring and informative talk before the rush to buy some of these unusual plants not available at local garden centres.
Perhaps we will see some of these at future shows.
