Randwick Gardening Club with speaker Ms K Clowes on The Sap is Rising and other stories

RANDWICK Gardening Club held its April meeting in the village hall on Tuesday, April 10.

The meeting was opened by the chairman Mr Stuart Gregory who reminded members for donations of plants for the Randwick Wap to be held on Saturday, May 12.

He then introduced the speaker for the evening Ms K Clowes whose talk was called The Sap is Rising and other stories.

Her talk was very informative and amusing about the numerous plants she had brought along.

The stories about the plants were both factual and folklore.

Members were in stitches of laughter at stories of names of plants mispronounced.

The plants were then offered for sale.

The raffle was won by Maxine, Jan and Kay.

On Thursday, June 14, a trip has been arranged to Bishop's Palace Gardens in Wells.

Its 14 acres of stunning tranquil gardens an arboretum and contemporary garden of reflection for a moment of quiet is hidden within the ramparts and protected by the moat.

The cost is £23 and pick up points are Nailsworth car park at 9am and Tricorn House at 9.15am.
