Cainscross WI's mini-auction

OUR early May meeting at Cainscross was quite well attended with apologies only from Linda and Thelma.

We also welcomed two visitors for the evening.

We thanked Pam Elliott for her pretty table flowers, which included some lovely daffodils (and one with three heads on one stem!) arranged in a cute cup and saucer.

After the usual correspondence and our voting on Mental Health Matters, we discussed the arrangements for our 92nd Birthday Party Outing which, as usual, is set to take place in July.

This year the first Tuesday is July 3, so we will be away from St Matthew’s Church Hall on this evening and hopefully travelling by coach to a village in Herefordshire.

Pre-booking will be needed for this occasion.

With business concluded, we all enjoyed our usual ‘good natured haggling’ over the prices of items in the mini-auction, which was well run as always by Rowena and again made us a useful sum to put in the kitty.

We finished with refreshments and now look forward to our June meeting, which is set to take place at St Matthew’s on Tuesday, June 5, when we will have a return visit by Pam Slater and her new talk on ‘Pearls’.

The competition is for ’A piece of pearl jewellery’.

This sounds a lovely talk for a Summer’s evening, and new members or visitors would be very welcome to join us.

The start time is 7.15pm and there will be a raffle and refreshments on offer, as well as the usual Sales Table.
