Randwick Gardening Club

RANDWICK Gardening Club held its June meeting in the village hall on the 12th.

The meeting was opened by Mrs Iris Perry in the absence of the chairman Mr Stuart Gregory.

It has been decided to travel to Ball Colegrave Ltd in cars as to hire a coach was too expensive.

Iris introduced the speaker for the evening Mr Jon Mason of Highfield Garden World who gave his usual brilliant talk.

The subject was Colourful Climbing Plants and he brought a large selection of plants to talk about including Clematis, Honeysuckle, Abutilon, Jasmine, Passion Flower, Chocolate Vine and many others.

The raffle was won by Irene, Mary, Jean and Val.

It was good to see three visitors.

On Thursday, June 14, the club went on a trip to Bishops Palace Gardens in Wells.

It was a very enjoyable day out.

At the time of writing there are still seats available on our trip to the Walled Gardens of Cannington, and possibly calling in at Cadbury World on Thursday, August 9.

To book phone Miss Ann Adams on 01453-758353.

The next meeting in the village hall is on Tuesday, July 10, when the speaker Mr P Green will give a talk headed Sensory Sensations.

Just a reminder there is no meeting in August.
