Leonard Stanley Wine Circle' Annual Garden Party
WHAT a lovely evening we had – the weather for once was on our side and members enjoyed their Annual Garden Party sitting out in the sun in the beautiful garden of Sue and Graham Jones.
It was nearly a full turn out and everyone mixed well, catching up with news and looking around this well designed garden and hopefully getting ideas for their own.
We also had four visitors, namely Adrian and Jane Roberts and their friends, Alan and Jenny Miles who we hope will join us as members.
A great big thank you to Sue and Graham for letting us have the use of their garden and kitchen and for making members so welcome.
Business was brief, but Eric reminded us of the outing on July 25, to Chavenage House and said that the coach will depart from the village hall at 5.45pm, so let’s hope the weather will again be kind to us.
Don’t forget to bring your own drink.
He had also received a letter from Marion Beagley, our speaker for the May meeting who thanked the Wine Circle for their donation to the Chernobyl Children’s Life Line charity.
There will be no meeting in August but we resume again on September 26, when George Yiend will give his talk on ‘Cider with Rosie’ – visitors are very welcome to come along.
