A FATHER was found with ketamine seven months after being given a suspended sentence for a burglary, a court heard.
John Maloney, 21, was given a 12 week jail sentence suspended for 12 months in September for a house burglary.
Sharon Green, prosecuting at Stroud Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, said Maloney had been stopped by police on Thursday, April 23 and volunteered a wrap containing ketamine.
Steven John, defending, said Maloney was a recovered alcoholic who had been complying with all other parts of his sentence, including a supervision requirement.
Magistrates decided not to activate the suspended sentence saying Maloney, of Chapel Street, Slad, would be vulnerable in custody due to his health.
Instead they added an extra 10 day education and training requirement and extended supervision of three months to his suspended sentence.
He was fined £17 and ordered to pay £30 plus a £15 victim surcharge.
