MATTHEW Fynney was found with heroin and drugs paraphernalia in his van at a remote spot in Stroud.
Fynney, aged 35 of Glebe Road, Minchinhampton, was caught by police on Wednesday, September 23.
Andrew Bowdler, prosecuting at Stroud Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 20, explained that police on patrol near Folly Lane allotments found Fynney in his van.
They saw him swallow something and found drugs paraphernalia and a small amount of heroin in his van.
Defending, Helen Kingsbury said: "Fynney has an ongoing problem with heroin.
"He is already on a programme to help him come off the drug but had a blip.
"His father had recently died and he was going through relationship problems."
The self-employed builder was fined £100, ordered to pay £35 costs plus a £15 victim surcharge.
