PUPILS cooked up pizza perfection at Horsley C of E Primary School when the whole school got involved in a pizza cookathon.

Cookery Club organiser Anna Herbert, who has three children at the school, said: “The pupils were set homework based around designing pizzas and choosing ingredients, and they obviously put a lot of thought into it.

“On the day they really got stuck in, making the dough, adding toppings and then cooking the pizzas in the church, using mobile ovens loaned by Chadwick Pizza Oven from Stroud. It was really good fun and the children loved it.”

The oldest children did the cooking for the whole school. Bea Herbert, 10, said: “We made the dough and all had to work together, taking turns. Then we added the toppings, put them in the oven and cooked them. We made 110 pizzas in two hours so that everyone had one each.”

Bea added: “My team put salami, olives, ham and mozzarella on our pizzas and they were really nice.”
