NAILSWORTH has gone ‘from strength to strength’ as a town which embraces the concept of ethical trading - having once again successfully renewed its status as a Fairtrade Town.

It first became a Fairtrade town in 2002 and has maintained this position continuously ever since, having successfully renewed its status every two years.

Adam Gardner, of the Fairtrade Foundation said: “It is clear from the renewal form that Fairtrade in Nailsworth has been going from strength to strength and we were particularly impressed by the number and diversity of events you have put on over the last few years.

“There are also clear and achievable goals to take Fairtrade forward in Nailsworth.”

Sue Nicholson, a member of the Nailsworth Fairtrade Town Steering Group, which is responsible for the Fairtrade renewal process, said: “We are thrilled at this endorsement and recognition of what we are doing to promote Fairtrade in Nailsworth.

“We would like to thank all the local businesses, groups and individuals whose continued commitment to Fairtrade has helped us to achieve this accolade and anyone interested in learning more should get in touch.”
