THE full line up has been confirmed for the second Cirencester Literary Festival to be held from 28th July to 2nd August.

It includes award winning writer/illustrators Liz Pichon, author of the Tom Gates series, Nicholas Allan, who will be mixing live drawing with magic tricks with his new book, The Prince and the Potty; and James Mayhew, of Katie fame, who promises ‘upside-down storytelling’!

Many of the authors will be presenting new books, with Jeff Norton bringing Memoirs of a Neurotic Zombie – including an interactive zombie makeup workshop and Damian Dibben talking about his new History Keepers novel, Nightship to China.

There are 12 events to suit age ranges from four year olds to teens, girls and boys, and most will have an interactive element – ideal for the school summer holidays.

SF Said, the award winning author of Varjak Paw and Phoenix, will be talking about the writing process and encouraging young readers to try it for themselves. Joe Craig, whose Jimmy Coates series has been called “The Bourne Identity for kids” promises an action packed event.

New for this year, there are two evening events for adults. The Urban Rajah, aka Ivor Peters, will be hosting a foodie evening at the Library along with The Cotswold Cider Company – a great opportunity for some curry and cider matching.

Elizabeth Laird will be talking about her incredible book, The Lure of the Honey Bird - a fascinating memoir of her journey through Ethiopia, collecting folk stories from traditional story tellers.

Tickets for the events will be on sale shortly from Octavia’s Bookshop in Black Jack Street, Cirencester and Cirencester Bingham Library. They are just £2 for the children’s events and £5 for the evening events, with the proceeds going to the Bingham Library Trust.
