GREEN-FINGERED council tenants were rewarded for their efforts at the annual SDC Garden Competition Awards.
There were nearly 120 entries in categories including best floral garden, best wildlife garden and best balcony garden.
New this year was a children’s Tray Garden, which attracted 32 entries.
Prizes were donated by more than 20 companies and included garden vouchers and a day’s labour, won by Broadfield Road Sheltered Housing Unit.
Two children’s garden groups shared first prize with brothers Leejay and Taylor Wilkins in the children’s garden category.
Two overall winners chosen were Mr Franklin of Painswick and Mr and Mrs Miller of Slimbridge.
