EDDIE The Eagle Edwards jumped to the winner’s podium when he was crowned Strictly Star champion of Gloucestershire.
The former Olympic ski-jumper and dance partner Julie Fuller won the charity dance competition in front of a sold-out audience at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham on Saturday night. “It was better than winning any gold medal in the Olympic Games,” said Eddie, who lives in Woodchester.
Organised by the National Star College and JazzJiveSwing, the event raised £46,000 to support young people with complex disabilities.
Celebrity GP Dr Dawn Harper, Sheepscombe and dance partner Rob Farley were second.
