A SCHOOL BUS full of children had to find an alternative route today after a head on collision between two cars closed the main road through Randwick.

A small section of Cashes Green Road between the Ruscombe Road junction and the Redhouse Lane junction was closed for around 40 minutes at 11.30am this morning, Tuesday.

Neither of the drivers was injured in the collision but it has raised issues of road safety on that particular bend.

One resident said: "Because cars can be parked on the side of the road it means motorists have to drive in the middle of the road in order to pass by and today that has sadly caused an accident.

"It's really dangerous and something needs to be done."

Another resident complained that an earlier spillage of concrete on the road by builders working on a near-by development had resulted in the road being even more slippery than usual.

Both cars were towed away from the scene and the road was eventually re-opened.
