A body has been recovered from the River Severn.
The discovery was made on Tuesday morning by a member of the public, who found the body lying on the river bank at Awre, near Newnham.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue service attended the scene at 12.10pm to help recover the body using one of its specialist rescue boat crews.
Around 12 crew members attended and were on the scene for two and a half hours.
Police were also called to the scene but the incident is being treated as ‘non-suspicious’.
The coroner has been notified but a formal identification and post mortem is yet to be completed.
