POLICE are appealing for information after a man was robbed and a large amount of cash stolen in Tetbury.

The incident happened on Chipping Street at around 10am on Sunday, December 21.

The victim, a 63-year-old man from Tetbury was walking from the Chippings to the bank with the takings from a social club on Long Street when he was pushed from behind by one of the offenders.

As the victim then attempted to gain his balance, he was pushed over again and fell to the ground.

One of two men then grabbed a blue TSB night-safe bag containing a large amount of cash from the victim’s pocket.

The offenders then ran off along Long Street and down an alleyway towards the library and fire station.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101 quoting incident number 156 of December 21.
