STUDENTS from St Rose’s School bounced for 12 hours to raise the cash needed for new dining room furniture.
With people taking turns to jump on a trampoline the sponsored bounce-a-thon brought in £650 with money still rolling in from supporters.
A spokesman from the special school said: “There was loads of community spirit and we even had staff coming back in the evening to support the children and cheer from the sidelines. It was a great event to run.”
About 30 children from the school took part, keen to book their 20 minute slot on the timetable.
A countdown was projected onto a big whiteboard screen in the event hall to encourage participants.
Previously Lloyds Bank had funded St Rose’s dining room to be re-painted and with its new look the school wanted to see the furniture upgraded as well.
