A COMMUNITY speed watch group in Painswick is on a mission to turn the village into a “speed aware” spot.
Parish councillor Abigail Smith set up the group after concerns over speeding in the village.
The last Speed Watching Week was held between Monday, February 9 and Friday, February 13.
Volunteers took to the streets of Painswick with speed detectors, loaned by Stroud police station, to catch speeding drivers.
This was the second speed watch week the group staged and so far they have collected 350 registrations of vehicles speeding on roads such as Gloucester Road, New Street and Edge Lane.
Abigail said: “We hope that people driving through Painswick will start to think more about the speed they’re doing knowing that our group is taking action.”
