A PENSIONER remains in a serious condition in Southmead Hospital after being hit by a lorry yesterday in Stonehouse.
The 70-year-old man was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries after being hit by the HGV.
Gloucestershire police said the man suffered ‘potentially life threatening’ injuries in the collision which happened outside the Stonehouse Court Hotel, at 10am on Tuesday.
An air ambulance attended the scene, but the man was taken by road to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment.
The driver of the lorry was said to have not suffered any injuries in the collision.
The A419 Bristol Road was closed between the Oldends Lane roundabout and the Horsetrough roundabout for about three hours.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 95 of April 21 2015.
