An 18-year-old from Tetbury has completed the second of his seven marathons this week.

Sam Beard is aiming to run seven marathons in seven days, becoming one of the youngest people ever to complete the challenge.

He completed two full marathons in Gloucestershire on Monday and Tuesday and has four more to go before he faces the London Marathon on Sunday.

By the end of this week, the inspirational youngster will have run a total of 189 miles.

Inspired by the fundraising acts of celebrities such as Davina McCall and Eddie Izzard, the part-time chef has already raised more than £1,300 for the children’s charity Barnardo’s.

“I just don't want to be remembered as someone who didn't fulfil their potential,” he said.

“I believe I can do this, I believe I can finish seven marathons and get that medal around my neck in London.

“The challenge is being done to help vulnerable children and young people and give them a better life and 100% of the money on this page goes too Barnardos young people charity.

“Please if you can, dig deep and help me get too my target of £2,000 for Barnardos.”
