The Outdoor Gym. Did you know that Stonehouse now has its own outdoor gym? It is on the Laburnum Field alongside the children’s play area. It is suitable for all ages. It’s free. Give it a go.

Stalls on the Green. Not to be missed WI stall on The Green selling plants and preserves this Saturday, April 25, in the morning.

Mill Visits. This Saturday, April 25 Gigg Mill will be open from 10am-noon. This is a historic mill with a Weaving Shed containing historic and modern looms including a power loom. The machinery is demonstrated and you can try your hand at weaving.

Annual Stonehouse town meeting will be held in the Town Hall next Monday, April 27 at 7pm. There will be the presentation of the Annual Civic awards. All residents and people working in the town are most welcome.

Savvy Seniors Cinema Club meets every Monday at 11am at the Vue Cinema in Stroud. Next Monday, April 27 The Theory of Everything starring Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne the film tells the extraordinary story of one of the world’s greatest living minds astrophysicist Stephen Hawking. Stonehouse Methodist Church will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in July. Stonehouse Community Partnership – calling all photographers and poets. Time to be creative. Arts Explosion Festival Week, Monday June 29 – Saturday July 4 will be holding an exhibition of photographs and poetry from local people to celebrate the Heritage of Stonehouse. Stonehouse Library Baby Bounce and Rhyme and Bookstart Bear sessions are back from 10.30am until 11am every Wednesday during school term time. Hats for Seamen. Thank you to all who knit hats and balaclavas they are always very well received and I have just posted another 20. If you would like to knit a hat, patterns and some wool are available in the Town Hall, or contact me.

Royal British Legion – The Royal British Legion has implemented bi-monthly meetings, they will be on even months; Feb, April, June, Oct & Dec and on the first Tuesday at 7pm. The Citizens Advice Bureau has an advice worker available in the Town Hall every Thursday from 10am to 1pm. No need for an appointment. An advice worker is also available in the APT community shop on the Park Estate on Thursday afternoons from 1pm.
