VISITORS flocked to the Chalford Quilt and Needlecraft Show over the bank holiday weekend.
With a spokesman saying the atmosphere was “buzzing”, it saw at least 300 people turn up and a raffle winner take a quilt home.
The three-day event raised £1,200, which will be split between Stroud’s Woman’s Refuge, The Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
The free event ran from Saturday, May 23, to Monday, May 25 at Chalford Village Hall and Christ Church. There was also a tombola, plenty of homemade cakes and teas to keep quilt fans refreshed as well as lots to buy.
In their first challenge the quilters were given a patch of fabric and were tasked with interpreting the theme of Gloucestershire Wildlife into their needlework.
Entries were shown over the weekend on a strictly non-competitive basis with organisers stressing that every piece would be appreciated and admired for what it was.
