MORE than 200 walkers took part in the annual Horsfall House Sponsored Walk for Free Respite Care.
The weather stayed dry and warm on Sunday afternoon, May 17, as keen hikers and walkers took on the challenge of a 10-mile circular walk through the countryside around Minchinhampton.
Set in the idyllic scenery of Gatcombe Wood and Avening Court Gardens, the walk began at Minchinhampton Library and followed a route around the village.
This year’s community walkers were the Rev Helen Bailey, who had been busy collecting sponsorship among her parishioners, Emma Brookes from Brookes Hair & Beauty and Mark Robinson from Taylors Butchers who took part for the second year running.
Organisers hope that, as in previous years, several thousand pounds will be raised for the ongoing provision of the free respite care Horsfall House offers.
To raise money to further funds for Horsfall House, The Festival Players will be performing Shakespeare’s classic pastoral comedy As You Like It at Beaudesert Park School on Tuesday, June 9.
