WHETHER it’s time to buy back to school shoes, sandals for the summer or just a new pair of trainers, there can’t be many better people to ask than Jackie Swaine.
The 64-year-old is this month celebrating 25 years of service at Clarks shoe shop in Stroud and says she would never dream of doing anything else.
She said: “It’s got to the stage now where the children that I served when I first started are bringing in their children.
“I’ve done it for such a long time I couldn’t do anything else. I will really miss it when I do leave, whenever that might be.”
To mark the occasion, Clarks will give vouchers to Mrs Swaine, who plans to spend them on a new watch.
Over the years Jackie has seen changes of equipment and technology, but says serving children and friendly staff at the shop have always made the job enjoyable.
