Stonehouse is going pink this week in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Week June 29 – July 4. Volunteers will be wrapping the High Street trees in felt, yarn and knitted items. Shops and business have all given their support and will be turning their window displays pink or wearing pink for the week. On Saturday July 4 info cards will be given out in front of the Co-op and there will be a wire sculpture to tie pink ribbons on in remembrance or to show their support to help fight cancer.

Stonehouse Gardening Club meet this evening Wednesday July 1 at 7.30pm in the Community Centre. Our guest speaker is Jayne Morris talking about flowers to grow for cutting. Savvy Seniors Cinema Club meets every Monday at 11am at the Vue Cinema in Stroud. Next Monday July 6 A Little Chaos starring Kate Winslet and Alan Rickman. A female landscape-gardener is awarded the esteemed assignment to construct the grand gardens at Versailles. This evening, Live Screenings presents Carmen live from the English National Opera at 7.15pm of Wednesday, July 1. Stonehouse Methodist Church will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in July. On Saturday, July 4 the Methodist Church will be open for visitors to see what the church is doing. There will be floral tributes to the church and its many activities and celebrations and many old photographs also showing the life of the church and of refreshments and cream teas.
