Austin Powell, 39
A 39-YEAR-OLD Gloucester footballer allegedly head-butted an opposition player, breaking his teeth, Gloucester Crown Court heard yesterday.
Austin Powell of Court Gardens, Hempsted, Gloucester, denied assaulting Alex Barnes of Brimscombe on the football pitch on January 19 this year.
Powell allegedly attacked Mr Barnes after an altercation on the pitch near Brimscombe, causing him actual bodily harm.
Judge Jamie Tabor QC ruled that a plea and case management hearing will be held on October 9 and a two-day trial will be held at a date to be fixed.
Unconditional bail continues.
