A FIRE engine was called to Avening Primary School this morning - and pupils were ablaze with excitement.
Firemen and workers from Skillzone, based in Gloucester, came along to show pupils from reception to Year 2 some of the equipment to coincide with a topic they have been learning about.
Youngsters got inside a fire engine and tried out the sirens, as well as using the hose pipes and wearing helmets.
Head teacher Jane Rushton said: "Pupils loved getting inside the fire engine and trying out the sirens.
"It was very exciting.
"The children have been learning about fire and ice so it was great for them to get a hands on lesson."
