A 27-YEAR-OLD man accused of threatening members of his own family with a machete and damaging their vehicles is to stand jury trial at Gloucester Crown Court next month.

Charlie McDonagh, of Mountview Caravan Park, Brookthorpe, pleaded not guilty on Friday to affray, threatening Eileen and Patrick McDonagh with a bladed article and intimidating Patrick McDonagh, all on October 3.

He also denied damaging Patrick McDonagh's Vauxhall Vivaro on October 3 and his Transit van on October 11.

He further pleaded not guilty to damaging John McDonagh's Ford Transit on October 11 and intimidating Patrick on that date by threatening him in order to obstruct justice.

During the hearing the court was shown brief footage taken on a mobile phone of the alleged affray during which several women could be heard screaming.

McDonagh told the court that there were also other pieces of film which had not yet been provided to court which showed he was not the only person with a weapon during the October 3 incident.

Nick Fridd, defending, told the court there would be 10 witnesses giving evidence at the trial.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC remanded McDonagh in custody till December 8 when the trial is scheduled to begin.
