TRIBUTES are pouring in for a much-loved man from Horsley who was sadly found passed away yesterday evening.

Philip Lee, 65, was well-known in the Nailsworth community and was often seen walking his dogs.

His son Ben Lee said: "He was my hero and my inspiration and everyone's friend.

"A truly lovely man who loved walking and enjoying the country.

"I am overwhelmed by so many lovely messages and humbled by all the love for him.

"The whole family and his lovely dogs will miss him very much."

Writing on the Nailsworth Chat and Information Facebook page, Rudy Carroll said: "He was a man that literally, and physically, helped me out when I needed help most.

"I never would have known him if I hadn't driven my car into a stream near his house once, and certainly wouldn't have remembered him if he hadn't spent a couple of hours helping me out.

"He lived in the most peaceful and beautiful place you or I could imagine and I think I know that wherever he is now, in death, will be all the more peaceful and beautiful for his generosity in life."
