VALENTINE’S Day is coming up and we are offering the opportunity to take part in a 30-minute workshop in the evening of Wednesday, February 10 with local willow worker Norah Kennedy (pictured).

We will be making willow hearts from locally-sourced willow and you will be able to make one and take it home to give as a present to a loved one.

At last it’s feeling like the daylight is increasing and spring will soon be here.

We have some exciting activities coming up that you may like to join in with and they will all help to make our world more environmentally friendly.

Our spring range of courses starts in February, on a variety of topics including Going Green in Stroud, How to Make and Renovate a Pond, Going Wild in Your Garden, Growing Your Own Vegetables, and Introduction to Permaculture.

All the courses are suitable for any adult, with a practical focus and with most of the work taking place outdoors.

There is a small charge, with concessions for people on benefits.

Now is a great time to think about creating a new pond, or giving an old pond a makeover.

Our annual seed swap is taking place on Saturday, February 27 from 10.30am to 1pm.

Bring along seeds that you have saved from your garden, or any packets of seeds that you have spare, and swap them for some different varieties.

Even if you don’t have any seeds to swap, you can still take some for a donation.

It’s a great way to meet other gardeners and to share advice and knowledge – and you can also take the time to browse through the new season’s biodynamic Demeter Seeds in SVP eco shop.

Please contact us if you would like more information on any of the above.
