BECOMING a ninja warrior is now a real possibility for residents of Chalford where the first gym of its kind opened in the UK.

Dion Trigg, a personal trainer, is holding an open day at True Function, the ninja training ground at Hallidays Mill.

“I’ve been passionate about Ninja Warrior since my first trip to Japan in 1997,” Dion said.

“My dream is to compete in Sasuke in Japan one day.

“Our classes help improving athletic fitness and strength as well as rehabilitation, building confidence and self-worth.”

Sasuke is a Japanese sports entertainment television programme in which 100 competitors attempt to complete an obstacle course.

It is known as Ninja Warrior for the international audience and is screened in at least 18 countries.

Dion teaches adults and children of all abilities and ages from four-year-olds to 68-year-olds.

During the open day there will be a basic course for children and adults to try out as well as entering ninja competitions. There will also be demonstrations throughout the day.

Guest speaker and UK ninja Patrick Pretorius will be giving a motivational talk on The Fear Factor.

Dion has recently competed in Ninja Warrior in Vietnam as the only UK representative, amongst 27 other international competitors.

The Ninja open day will take place on Sunday, June 26 at True Function in Chalford.
