BIKERS will ride to the Dorset coast as a tribute to a popular woman who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year.

Brenda Murley, from Stroud, was a popular member of the Four Counties Bikers and one of her favourite rides was to the coast in Dorset with her two children.

Now members of the group will ride 189 miles in celebration of Brenda’s life from Bristol to Dorset’s Jurassic Coast on Sunday.

They will have a picnic on the beach at West Bexington and each biker will make a £5 donation to charity.

Tributes were paid to Brenda, who was studying counselling at SGS College in Stroud, after her sudden death at the age of 39 in January.

Martin Keay, from Four Counties Bikers, said: “Days ago she gave me the biggest hug and we talked of new adventures in the new year.

“She had two young children and such promise. We will miss her smile. We will miss her company.”

Friend Chrissie Field said: “She was a truly beautiful soul, warm, always friendly with a big smile.

“She will be missed, a kindred spirit.”

Matthew Byng and Joanna Farmer, counselling tutors at SGS College, described her as a ‘courageous and committed’ student.

In a statement, they said: “Brenda had the potential to become a powerful and sensitive counsellor.

“The counselling profession will be the poorer as a result of her death.”

Close friend Kim Heath, who knew Brenda for more than 20 years, said: “Brenda was a beautiful woman and a beautiful friend.

“I am going to miss her terribly.

“She tried so hard to find peace and happiness, she was beautiful and bright and will be forever in my heart.”
