A CHARITY golf day is being held to raise money for The Shrubberies School.

Money raised will go to the Stonehouse school's PTA to go towards new outdoor equipment.

The day, held at Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club on October 16, is a vital fundraiser for the school, last year raising around £3,000.

This year the school is hoping to raise around £5,000 to buy new outdoor play equipment supplied by the schools outdoor play and learning project (OPAL).

Teams of four can enter, with a range of prizes on offer including for the men's and ladies' longest drive.

Organisers are looking for sponsors for each hole, teams and prize donations for the tournament and raffle.

Entry cost is £10 members and £20 non-members, with all money going to the PTA.

The Shrubberies is a maintained special school catering for pupils with severe or profound learning disabilities, aged from two to 19.

All pupils, apart from those in nursery, have a Statement of Special Educational Needs.
