MADE In Stroud director Clare Honeyfield had a dream come true when she met her hero Russell Brand today.
The comedian, actor and activist came along to support a Recovery Party celebrating the work of the Hub Bistro project which was opened and is run by Stroud-based charity The Nelson Trust.
"I was invited to the party because I have been involved in some fundraising events for the project but I had no idea he was going to be there," Clare told the SNJ.
"I have always wanted to meet him. I admire his honesty and the way he uses his experience to the good.
"It was lovely to meet him, he was very funny."
The Hub Bistro was opened by The Nelson Trust in June 2015 with the help of funding from Brand's Comic Relief Give It Up Campaign.
Since the project was launched it has helped hundreds in their recovery from addiction and hosts regular events and activities at the cafe in Southgate Street, Gloucester.
