NUDGE Books, the acclaimed publishing magazine, has announced that The Killing Files by Stroud-based author Nikki Owen has won their Book Noir of the Year Award for 2017.

In a competitive and highly-talented shortlist, which included authors such as Peter May and Daniel Pembry, The Killing Files – the second book in the popular Dr Martinez series – was voted for by readers as being their outstanding thriller for 2017.

Nikki said: “I’m thoroughly delighted to win. The Killing Files was in great shortlist company.

“It means so much to me that the readers chose my novel to win. Thank you to everyone who voted.”

The award follows other recent wins for Nikki’s novels.

In December, the USA Magazine Audio File awarded Subject 375 its coveted “Earphones” award for the audio book version of the novel.

Both The Killing Files and Subject 375 appeared on “Top books of the Year” reading lists for the popular Lovereading.com website and leading USA publishing magazine, The Strand.
