A NEW shop selling beautiful Venezuelan products has opened in Stroud.

The owners of Made in Venezuela, which replaces Wild Boar on the High Street, announced their grand opening with bubbly and traditional Venezuelan nibbles last Saturday.

Made in Venezuela is run by two sisters, Angela and Oriana who have made it their purpose is to help struggling Venezuelan designers and artists earn a decent living whilst also gaining international recognition for their talent.

Although the business has been trading online and in London since 2015, the Stroud shop only opened to members of the public on February 10.

Co-owner Angela explained a little more about what customers can expect from the vibrant new business: “All of our products are uniquely designed and handmade in Venezuela,” she said, “with the majority being one off designs.”

“Venezuela is currently going through very difficult times,” she explained, “and the situation worsens every day.

“We wanted to be a channel for our people so that their products can travel beyond the borders of Venezuela.

“In the process, we want you to get to know our country, from the warmth of our people and the deliciousness of our food, to the natural paradises of our land,” she concluded.

As a result, of the sisters passionate attempts to help their country the people of Stroud can now enjoy colourful Venezuelan handmade clothes, swimwear, jewellery, handbags, art, and so much more.
