Talks and workshops have been well attended and attracted many visitors to the town. In Stroud Museum, families are invited to drop in on Saturday May 17 and help create a crazy quilt, and on Sunday May 18 at 2pm, Deidre McSharry talks about Eastern costume. Shop windows hold clues to a textile competition, as well as colourful textile displays and poems. More poems are pasted up around town, and it is good to see many town centre shops are sprucing up their paintwork. And it doesn't all end this month. In October there is another mini-festival to launch a book of poems by Jane Weir, inspired by the work of Barron and Larcher, with an exhibition of new textiles by Linda Brassington, talks, workshops and trips to places connected with the two 'modern misses' who lived in Painswick in the 1930s. |
