We are in a ‘phoney war’ stage with the General Election. Everyone knows it has to happen, but no-one (except the one person who can decide) knows precisely when it will be – as I write. Over succeeding elections, it has become almost fashionable not to vote. What a dreadful shame, when we consider the bravery of those who won the vote for everyone over the age of 18, sometimes through the sacrifice of their own lives.

Double yellow lines re-instated in Folly Lane, Stroud after motorist is wrongly fined
