MADAM – Speed coming down the Selsley Hill has always been a problem, especially on the narrow section at School Square.

A few years ago, the Highways Department proposed a 20mph speed limit, but for reasons known only to themselves failed to apply it.

They have now erected no fewer than seven advisory ‘20’s Plenty’ signs on the hill: amazingly, six going UP the hill, and only one coming down (this arrangement seems to have been dictated by availability of telegraph poles rather than logic).

Why not just introduce a mandatory 20mph limit in this section, as previously proposed?
