MADAM – I draw the attention to those responsible for the appalling state of our local roads.

The repairs of only a few months are now washed away by the recent deluge, as if the potholes had been filled with sand.

I refer to Bisley Road, Stroud, but I am sure that if the same quality of repair was applied to other areas their experience will be very similar, to the long suffering motorists forced to use the above mentioned carriageway.

It took months for the initial repairs to be carried out, and in many cases it is as if we are back to square one.

Is this a classic example of a cut-price repair or can we look forward – whenever that may be – to a more lasting approach in the next round of repairs?
