MADAM - I am attaching a photograph of a dog bin I took this afternoon at Bussage 'Pleasure Ground'.
This bin is supposed to be emptied on Fridays.
I have had several discussions with Council staff about this bin, its faulty design, the regularity of its emptying etc., but I am clearly getting nowhere.
Perhaps you could involve one of your reporters in this unfortunate business and then something useful might be done.
This bin is currently a health hazard, the stench is discernible from 10 metres away.

In the last year, we have received two complaints regarding this bin.
We responded to the first, in June, within two days.
More recently, we responded to the second within 24 hours.
With the warmer weather, greater use is being made of dog bins.
We have over 500 bins in the district and occasionally problems arise.
We apologise for this and hope that people will bear with us.
The bin is of a standard design used commonly around Stroud and across the country.
The lock failed due to corrosion and has been repaired.
